what is NawKote-PC?
NawKote-PC is a clear coating which can be applied on many different surfaces, including glass, tile, precast concrete, masonry, and other painted or unpainted surfaces. NawKote-PC is a water-based, nontoxic coating system that gives the treated area properties that help prevent carbonation, reduce algae-buildup, shield the surface from harsh UV-rays, and yield self-cleaning attributes to the underlying surface.
NawKote-PC’s coating provides many beneficial characteristics that help maintain a building’s appearance due to its self- cleaning properties that reduce life-cycle costs. Treated surfaces carry no electric charge and reduce the absorption of dust and dirt. The hydrophilic surface wets out evenly, which leads to faster drying and dramatically reduces the amount of dirt sticking to the surface.
History of Photocatalysis
The technology behind NawKote-PC was first discovered in 1967 by Japanese scientist Prof. Fujishima. In order to standardize photocatalytic products, the Photocatalysis Industry Association of Japan (PIAJ) was established in 2006 with purpose of promoting and improving the quality, performance, and safety of those products.
Ever since, photocatalytic technology has been developed and improved by multiple industries to create sustainable solutions for buildings. In fact, NASA’s photocatalytic research has led to the launch of the technology into space!

How does it work?
NawKote-PC consists of a high-quality, unique formulation including photocatalytic TiO2 nanoparticles that build a long-lasting protective barrier. By utilizing light from natural and artificial sources, NawKote-PC removes harmful contaminants in the air decomposing them when they come into contact with the coating.

What is NawKote-PC?
NawKote-PC is a photocatalytic and environmentally friendly coating system that yields air purifying and self-cleaning properties to surfaces.
More specifically, NawKote-PC utilizes light to activate chemical reactions between the surface coated and the air in contact with it. These chemical reactions decompose pollutants, bacteria, viruses, and other harmful substances and release oxygen alongside other harmless byproducts.
How does it work?
The driving force behind NawKote-PC is photocatalysis!
Photocatalysis a chemical reaction that’s accelerated by light. When light from the sun or artificial sources strike the titanium dioxide in NawKote-PC, the titanium dioxide pulls water molecules towards itself. That pull is called superhydrophilicity and ensures that two essential processes can occur.
The first is that water molecules are so drawn to titanium dioxide, they slide underneath dirt, debris, graffiti, and other contaminants on the surface. On exterior surfaces when it rains, the water runs off of the surface with the contaminants and the surface will clean itself!
The other essential process is that water molecules are oxidized. More specifically, into two oxidizing species: hydroxyl radical and Oxygen Hole. This process releases oxygen into the air and destroys bacteria, viruses, and fungi in contact with the process as well!

How long does NawKote-PC last?
